abstract
The purpose of this study is ;(1) to investigate the relationship between coping strategy and adjustment among mentally healthy subjects in streesful situations, and ;(2) to investigate the relationship between achevement motivation, coping strategy and adjustment in the same situgations. One hundred and fifty-four male high school students were selected as subjects and these data were collected by means of questionnaires.

As the result of analysis, the next knowledge was obtained;

1. Concerning the relationship between coping strategy and adjustment, active engagement are closely related to high adjustment, but passive acceptance and escapism aren't related to adjustment. And the relationship between self-examination and adjustment and between seeking support and adjustmen are ate the mercy of stressful situations's trait.

2. As a whole, in stressful situations high achievement motivation leads to effective coping strategy, and as the result of that process adjustment is brought on. But low achievment motivation leads to ineffective coping strategy and as the result of that process adustment isn't broug on.
